Workers Compensation InjuriesAnother one of those patients fell on ice while at work who came to us complaining of hip pain and that he was “tired of being drugged” and “tired of sitting at home”. Duane worked for Wallmart in the shipping and receiving area for 23 years and was now 6 months away from making his pension. For obvious reasons, he was quite anxious. After a careful evaluation of his mri and a special injection procedure, we were able to see where a particular nerve was likely responsible for his pain. After putting a drop of cortisone around the suspected irritated nerve that was masquerading as hip pain, it went away and he was able to not only retire, but was able to do so comfortably. Finally, the third patient fell off of a ladder at work complaining that his “back was killing him” and that “no one was able to help him”. He was told that “it was just arthritis and that he “would have to live with it”. Larry worked as a lineman and stated that he needed to be able to climb and lift heavy wiring. After carefully assessing him, it was found that the location of his pain was his right sacroiliac joint. Furthermore, it was discovered on his physical examination that he was born with a short right leg. After providing him with the appropriate heel lift to the short side and placing some soothing cortisone into his right sacroiliac joint using xray guidance as is always customary, he returned to his usual work level status in two weeks. |
